Matthew
Matthew
Here is a picture of Matthew. He is living with his father, Dennis, brother Dakota and sister Chelsea at my nephew Ernest's home after their mother was killed in a car crash and they needed a place to stay long term. Dennis prefers not to be photographed at this time for reasons that are entirely understandable. There is a picture iof Matthew from Thnaksgiving a few years ago. I am happy to report that the family is doing fine, just bought a used truck and Dennis is returning to work as a mechanic when his health allows.

This is my favorite time of year. College football, marching bands, cool weather, Halloween, and stuff like French beaujolais wine. Life is floating on by. The years seem to pass in between the endlaess anticipations of Autumn. The afterlife must be like an endless concert in the Fall. See you all there.

Been fairly busy lately. Changed employers and had a birthday and I guess I have been busy! But I am still a non smoker and I still found time to meditate and walk and day dream. I like being me. As the years roll by I like being me more and more. Mainly because I am living a healthier and smarter life now. Thanks to ideas we share here I think that force will continue to grow in my life and sharing it with you just makes it better.

I am appalled by this unthinkable crime. I know no one there at that school or even in Virginia. I dont keep up with much sports do I am not familiar with any of the players on any of their teams. I am totally disconnected from the community there, yet I am still appalled by the crime. It scares me to think that one person can sink to such a low point and become so out of touch that he engages in mass murder. No motive can justify this act. It is the definition of senselessness and evil, and yes even insanity by my book.
I dont know what the FBI will say or the judges and police reports. I listened to the speeches this afternoon and they were very nice. I just can't help but think how sad so many people connected with this tragic and unjustifiable act must be.
It will pass, everyone agrees. Or perhaps many of them will just get used to the empty pain and it won't seem so bad after a while. We all have been there in one way or another. Buddhism teaches that this life is just a phase we are passing through and that there will be a next life and one after that until we eventually reach enlightenment. I like that notion.

Cocteau Twins
Heaven or Las Vegas circa 1988
(here translated from Esperanto?)
Wholl ever win?
Gee, youre just so ephemeral
Go back for new
For new in vain, it failed
Singing on the famous street
I want to love me
Am I just in heaven or las vegas
Its so much more brighter than the sun is to me
Hes a hustler
Its a role, hell never make a suit
Hang on to this
So stay and spin and fail and fail
Wholl ever win?
Gee, youre just so ephemeral
Go back for new
For new in vain, it failed
Singing on the famous street
I want to love me
Am I just in heaven or las vegas
Its so much more brighter than the sun is to me
The chill must itch in my soul
Thats like any old playing card
It must be why Im thinking of las vegas
Its why its more brighter than the sun is to me
Furthermore, lets blast it off
Im dizzy so I go, another bit it off
Come fantasy, for a carnival
Im empty before our(a? ) wedding
Singing on the famous street
I want to love me
Am I just in heaven or las vegas
Its so much more brighter than the sun is to me
The chill must itch in my soul
Thats like any old playing card
It must be why Im thinking of las vegas
Its why its more brighter than the sun is to me
Maybe there, while you was rail
Ill go in and seize your heart and be personal
I suspect Im singing to you a tune
And still you find the beat and sing it to you soon
